More often than not – my audi steering jams up and becomes heavy. It feels like how it would feel if the engine wasn’t switched on. I have taken it to many different garages and nobody can help.

If the power steering fluid level is OK (i.e. there’s no leaks) the most likely cause is the power steering pump or the drive to it.
