Audi’s major push for Iron Man 2 tie-ins begins now, with the Tony Stark Innovation Challenge. A real way for life to imitate art, Challenge entrants will create videos to showcase their ideas that will make the world better through technology – just like Tony Stark does in Iron Man, but without the guns. The winner gets all kinds of swag, including $15,000 to make it all come true. Sadly, there’s no mention of Audi making you a billionaire or having your contracts notarized by Scarlett Johansson. Follow the jump for all the details and Audi’s first video.

Audi R8 Spyder commercial – Click above to watch video after the jump

This Audi commercial for the R8 Spyder has a tagline that sounds more like two spies verifying each others’ identities – “Mirror. Signal. Outmaneuver.” – and it has a supporting cast stranger than a man in a nuclear-powered suit. Not that it needs to be comprehensible since it’s got that topless white beast in it, and we’ll be fine with that, thank you.

Follow the jump for a little Fellini-esque trip through Audi’s mind.

Audi R8 Spyder in Iron Man 2 – Click above to watch video after the jump

We’re officially counting down the days until Iron Man 2 hits theaters on May 7. The sequel to one of our favorite superhero flicks is set to boast a serious cast, including performances by Don Cheadle and Micky Rourke. Speaking of those two, the actors will be bringing two of the best characters from the Iron Man universe to life – War Machine and Whiplash. Oh yes. It will be good.

Of course, one of the best parts of watching Robert Downey Jr. play the part of spoiled playboy Tony Stark is drooling over the guy’s bachelor pad/garage. We would give unmentionable portions of our anatomy to have our very own holographic drafting table and pint-sized manufacturing facility stashed downstairs. You can go ahead and throw in the flathead ’32 roadster while you’re at it.

Audi has once again teamed up with Marvel for Iron Man 2. A new ad from the company shows off the R8 Spyder as one of Stark’s main rides, which makes sense considering the car was spotted on the set not too long ago. As if we needed another reason to be jealous. Hit the jump to see the spot for yourself.

Damina Ramirez joins Justin Timberlake and the Audi A1 in The Next Big Thing – Click above to view the video after the jump

When Audi first announced it would be relying on the talents of Justin Timberlake to push the company’s new A1, we were a little skeptical. At first, it looked like JT was to do little more than stand on stage and look pretty next to the pint-sized hatch, but it appears the four-rings has other plans in mind, including a new action driving series starring none other than the singer-turned actor.

If you’re thinking a bunch of star-packed mini-movies sponsored by a German automaker sounds more than a little familiar, it should. BMW followed the same recipe with Clive Owen in The Hire way back in 2001 and 2002. The result was a total of eight short films that remain some of our favorite time-wasters to this day. What can we say? You can’t have James Brown drag race the devil for his soul and not be a winner.

From what we can tell from the short trailer, Audi’s effort looks to have all the right ingredients. There’s gun fire, car chases, tire smoke, good music and, of course, a hot antagonist (Dania Ramirez). Throw in any semblance of plot, and you’ve already got 9/10ths of a Michael Bay masterpiece. Sign us up. You can hit the jump to see the trailer before the action begins next month.
