Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) August 10, 2007
When the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety released a new study recently that rated how 2007 vehicle models held up in various crash scenarios, the Audi A4 and A6 received high marks.
Since that study was released, sales of used A4 and A6 Audi models have increased at Colorado Auto Finders, said Ali Awada, who founded the business in 2001.
In June, the used car dealer sold at least 15 Audis, most of which were the A6, a large luxury sedan, he said. On a lot that maintains about 120 vehicles, that is significant.
“I’m constantly purchasing Audis for the dealership to sell because they are in high demand,” Awada said.
The Institute gave the Audi A6 a “good” overall rating, which is its highest rating, according to the institutes’s Web site. The institute found that the A6′s performance was good in front, side and rear tests and standard electronic stability control.
For the third straight year, the A6 received a good rating in frontal offset tests, which rate driver-side occupant compartment intrusion and driver injury; and side-impact tests, which measure structure damage and driver and passenger injury.
In the mid-sized car category, the A4 fared equally well. It also received the “good” rating. It has been rated “good” since 2002 in frontal offset and side impact tests.
Those tests results mean a lot to customers at Colorado Auto Finders, Awada said.
“We get a lot of family-minded customers and for them, safety is the most important consideration when purchasing a vehicle,” he said. “They really do their homework and follow the news regarding automobile safety issues.”
Because of that, Colorado Auto Finders works continuously to respond to customers’ demand for safe, quality used vehicles.
If you are looking for a luxury vehicle that will be safe for you and your family without paying new vehicle prices, visit Colorado Auto Finders at 2200 S. Parker Rd. in Denver. You can reach them by phone locally at (303) 636-9000, or toll free at (877) 636-9002. Or visit them online at www.CoAutoFinders.com.

I was reading a motorcycle forum article, a woman had taken a motorcycle safety class and how one of the instructor’s wasn’t being professional. According to the article, this instructor was allowing mistakes not count against a person’s score. That truly upsets me. I was a nationally certified instructor and I never allowed mistakes to be ignored during testing. We are talking about people’s lives and that should never be taken lightly!! That instructor wasn’t helping anyone out, be over looking mistakes. Those mistakes could cause that person to have an accident because he/she didn’t know the correct procedure.
I’m not acting “high and mighty” but I know what it feels like to have a student pass (by a hair) and talk to that student about not being road ready. Taking the time to sit down with the student and discuss ways of going about working on her motorcycle skill and then find out… 30 days later, her boyfriend bought her a motorcycle and they left the dealership riding their motorcycles, a motorcycle she wasn’t ready to put on the road, within 30 minutes of leaving the dealership, she had an accident and was killed instantly…
She wasn’t ready to ride that motorcycle on the road! They should have trailered the bike home and then began learning to ride her motorcycle in a safe place. I read somewhere that most accidents occur within 6 months of getting a motorcycle. Everyone needs to get the feel of motorcycle that they are riding. This is one reason that I emphasis “Safety First” always, that includes your motorcycle and your safety gear.

“MOTORCYCLE SAFETY” – How many times have your heard this phrase? There are a few simple things you can do to protect yourself and your clothes while enjoying the freedom of riding in the open air.
Of course being out there without being surrounded by a steel compartment like you are in a car, can have some drawbacks. So, if you prepare yourself properly, you can enjoy your ride and be protected at the same time. You should have a windshield and/or a motorcycle helmet with a face shield. These can help when the bugs are pelting you (and they don’t taste good). I know this from personal experience! Bugs and debris and stones flying in your face can also hurt and make you lose your concentration.
All smart bikers know that LEATHER apparel designed specifically for motorcycling will afford the best combination of comfort and protection. Proper fitting motorcycle leather apparel can help protect your body from sun, rain, hot exhaust pipes and asphalt “burns”. Leather jackets, leather vests, leather gloves and leather chaps should be worn on every trip. Motorcyclists often wear leather apparel because it is durable and abrasion-resistant which gives good protection against injury.
Leather motorcycle gloves will protect your hands from blisters, wind, sun and cold. Leather gloves will also help prevent cuts, bruises and abrasions in a crash. Make sure your gloves fit properly to improve your grip. If your gloves are too loose or bulky, you may have problems operating the controls of your motorcycle. If they are too tight, circulation will be restricted. Seamless leather gloves or leather gloves with external seams will help prevent blisters.
These are just a few helpful tips to make your ride a safe one. Proper fitting motorcycle leather will help you stay comfortable when encountering various riding conditions. It is as important for your protection as insurance for your motorcycle. Just think, wearing smart looking motorcycle leather apparel will make your riding a lot more fun because you know you are protecting yourself and your clothes. Of course, looking great in leather is a PLUS! Protect yourself on this ride so you can enjoy your next ride.

| Motorcycle Safety Tips to Consider |
23 Mar |
Since motorcycles do not really come with airbags and seatbelts, safety is a very important issue for those who ride them. Careless bikers who do not have respect for the dangers of the road have often regretted their decisions to shun some preventative measures. Options as simple as wearing a helmet can end up saving a life. There are other safety options to consider that are included below as well.
Keeping up to date on your mechanical services can mean the difference of life or death. Breaks, air filters and chains can all be worn down with extensive use. If these items go unchecked, they can end up fatal on the road. Something else to ask your mechanic about when you go for a routine checkup is your signal lights. Since motorcycles are so small, they can be difficult to see at night. It is imperative that bikers ensure all of their lights work so they can be safely seen in the dark.
Being seen and heard is crucial for the safety of a motorcyclist. Installing a loud muffler means that cars will more likely hear you and therefore be cautious about quick movements. The same is true for you. If you are wearing headphones and blasting music in your ears, the likelihood of your hearing a car horn is minimal. Hearing and being heard are vital to optimal safety and they should be sought after by any biker. Following these tips for motorcycle safety will ensure that your biking experience is a safer one than it otherwise might have been.

| Helmets Are There For Your Safety |
11 Mar |
A helmet saves your head. So whether you are a new rider or an experienced one, in both of the cases you need to buy a helmet. Although you must be very excited about getting you new helmet but still before buying a helmet you must take care of few things.
The first thing that you should take care of is the D.O.T sticker on the helmet. U.S. Department of Transportation verifies the helmet’s strength for certain conditions and the amount of pressure and those who pass these tests get these stickers.
Secondly the helmet should be fit enough on your head. A lose kind of helmet cannot save you head in an event of crash. If you wear a right helmet for your head, you will feel some pressure of chinstrap on your chin. The upper part should also fit in perfectly to your head that it doesn’t hurt you.
The helmet should be comfortable enough. It is very important for long riders especially. Your Friends might keep on telling you that there is no such thing as comfortable helmet but I guarantee you that you will find a perfect helmet for you. It might take long, you may have to try different dealers and several brands but finally you will find a desired one.
If you want a real protection of your face and head than I would suggest that find a helmet which covers the maximum area. The more area covered by the helmet, the more secure it is. Recent studies have shown that riders having full covered helmets remain much safer in the crash as compared to riders wearing half cover helmets.
Also clearly check the face shield of the helmet. Your vision should be very clear through it. If the shield creates some problem in your vision then just start looking for any other helmet.
And if you are looking for some real advance type of helmet than ask the sales man to show you the helmet with Bluetooth modular. It’s compatible to work with cell phones, iPods and some other electronic devices.
| Discount Motorcycle Helmets – What to Look For to Ensure Your Safety |
16 Feb |
It’s important to know what to look for when buying a discounted motorbike helmet. The most important feature is that its safety is approved with the marking BS 6658 1985 or UN/ECE 22.05. This will ensure you safety and your passengers’ safety in case of collision or coming off the bike.
In this article we’ll cover what you need to look for to ensure you safety is not compromised by a discount motorcycle helmet. By following these simple guidelines you can assure that style, comfort and, above all, safety isn’t affected by a low price tag of a motorbike helmet.
Firstly, are you able to establish why the helmet is discounted? In most cases it will simply be because it’s an end of line item or the last remaining stock. Most retailers will discount items that are the end of a stock range to improve their stock management. However, you can never assume this. Ask before making a purchase why the price has been lowered.
In 2009 new safety standard ratings were brought in by SHARP – the Department for Transport’s Safety Helmet Assessment and Rating Programme. 25 additional helmets were rated by the SHARP system in addition to the existing 150 helmets already rated by the system. If there’s a discounted helmet for sale and it’s one of the 175 approved SHARP helmets you’ll be increasing the safety of your ride.
Paul Clark, the Road Safety Minister who published the new safety ratings claims that “50 lives could be saved each year” if all riders were to wear the SHARP rated helmets. These ratings offer riders a great increase in their safety.
It might seem obvious, but another point to mention is to look for a reputable seller. Online auction websites will often have discounted motorcycle helmets available for sale. However, does the seller have good feedback? Is the item brand new? Is the helmet completely clear of defects or damages? Most online auction websites will allow you to contact the seller before making a purchase.
If you’re buying from an online website that’s not auction based you may be more protected due to trading laws. However, it’s still your responsibility to check the reputation of the business that’s selling the discount motorcycle helmets. If the seller’s in a foreign country the trading laws and safety laws might be different to in the UK.
| Bad Weather and Good Sense – Motorcycle Safety Tips |
15 Feb |
Choosing to ride a motorcycle is rather sensible, in some ways, and it invites significant risk in others. The direct economic cost of owning and riding a motorcycle is generally far less than that associated with a passenger car or truck. Moreover, the environmental impact of the typical bike is much smaller than that of another motor vehicle. On the other hand, however, there is a significant safety gap between a well-equipped motorcycle and a well-equipped family car, subjecting a motorcycle rider to the risk of serious injury in the event of an accident. This becomes strikingly clear when the weather takes a turn for the worse.
In Wisconsin, this is an especially important consideration because of the dramatic weather events that occur throughout the year. At different times there are many different weather phenomena that can turn the roadway into a dangerous place for a motorcyclist and his or her passenger in an instant. High winds, heavy rain, snow, ice, lightning, and tornadoes are all reasonably expected across the state and it is absolutely essential that a biker be prepared to respond immediately so that they can protect their safety.
Warning Signs and Safety Tips
Given the exposed nature of a motorcycle rider’s position atop the bike, it is wise to adopt a more proactive set of habits than might be necessary for other motorists. For example, taking the extra time to catch an up to the moment weather forecast for the range in which you will be riding can be of immeasurable value and only requires a minimal investment of time. If you are already out on the bike and observe that the sky has suddenly darkened, you see lightning flashes, or you hear the rumbling sound of thunder, then the set of responses at your disposal must be finely tuned so that you can protect yourself.
Some of the places that have the potential to be the most hazardous are bridges, overpasses, in tunnels, and in wide open roadways. Each of these features is particularly prone to either freezing, creating an increased force of wind, or renders a motorcyclist an attractive target for a lightning strike. Here are several safety tips to keep you well:
- Avoid riding at night when temperatures are at or below freezing, if possible
- When a lightning bolt and thunderclap are separated by less than 30 seconds, get to a covered space and remain there until there has been no such strike for a period of 30 minutes or more
- Lower speed if you absolutely must ride in heavy rains
