Toyota, Volvo, and GMC Score Top Honors with Vincentric’s Best Value in America Awards

Bingham Farms, MI (PRWEB) March 3, 2011

Vincentric’s 7th annual Best Value in America awards were released today, with Toyota, Volvo, and GMC winning the inaugural brand value awards for Passenger Cars, Luxury Vehicles, and Trucks respectively. A revived Chevrolet also performed strongly, buoyed by its new Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Volt, while Audi performed strongly in the premium segments with three awards. Other brands with multiple winners were Honda, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Ford.

“Vincentric’s 2011 Best Value in America awards use cost-of-ownership to provide an independent benchmark that helps consumers understand which vehicles provide the best value in their segment,” commented David Wurster, President of Vincentric. “This year’s results show strong performance from manufacturers that measure and proactively manage the key factors impacting cost-of-ownership. When residual values, scheduled maintenance intervals, parts costs, and other ownership costs are understood, value can be built into the vehicle upfront, minimizing the need to discount later at the point of sale.”

Vincentric measures cost-of-ownership using eight cost factors: depreciation, fuel, insurance, opportunity cost, financing, maintenance, taxes and state fees, and repairs. Using a statistical model, the company identified its Best Value in America winners by measuring which vehicles had a lower than expected ownership costs given their market segment and price. Each vehicle was evaluated in all 50 states plus DC using a range of annual mileage intervals and insurance profiles.

New for 2011 was the Eco segment, in which Vincentric’s process for measuring electric vehicle ownership costs was incorporated into the value measurement for the Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf.

Further information regarding all of the winners of Vincentric’s Best Value in America awards for the 2011 model year and Vincentric’s methodology is available at http://www.vincentric.com .

Doctor Discounts Best Sales Month Ever

Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) October 4, 2008

Carlsen Audi in Palo Alto posted an increase in internet sales for the month of September. While other Audi dealers struggled to find sales, Doctor Discount was busy writing savings prescriptions. Taking advantage of the high consumer demand for the all new 2009 Audi A4 with its all new PZEV engine and dynamic European styling combined with Audi’s world leading automotive engineering, Doctor Discount was able to write savings prescriptions for customers as far away as Oregon.

Carlsen Audi New Car Manager, David Stevens credits Audi of America’s aggressive end of year sales incentives and superior product as the foundation for last month’ sales success story. David is hoping to take advantage of the high consumer demand for Audi’s newest product offers to help make October a record month for sales.

When asked if he was concerned about stories in the media taking about consumers having difficulty securing automotive financing, David responded, “I have not seen that with our banks. Audi Financial Services has been great. They are still offering .9% APR financing on 2008 models. Audi Financial Services just announced a great lease on the 2009 Audi A3. We still have interest rates as low as 2.9% APR on select certified pre-owned Audi’s.”

Dave and his sales staff are planning to set sales records for the month of October. Dave admits that the economic situation makes it easier to sell cars. “People are expecting to get great value for their money. Audi offers savvy consumers excellent value when the purchase their Audi, great fuel performance and inexpensive ownership costs. It’s a great time to be selling cars.”

Audi A6 ? Best used car on the road 25
Feb
Posted by Admin in Audi A6 on 02 25th, 2011

What car would I say is the best used car on the road? It would have to be the Audi A6. Why, I hear you ask? Well, being an Audi owner, I can vouch for the performance and luxury built into these beautiful cars. I have owned a few cars in the past from various manufacturers and I can honestly say that out of all of them, I have had the least trouble mixed with the best performance from the Audi A6.

Looking at Audis historically, the one that sticks out the most – in my mind anyway – is the Audi Quattro. Those powerful rally cars used to own the track, screaming round corners and kicking up gravel at spectators as they passed! The developments Audi have made over the years are evident in both their rally and road cars – they have made improvements without losing the power and precision behind the wheel. Their road cars are of course a bit more luxurious than the rally Quattro – no sign of a roll-cage in my little beauty! Joking aside, the A6 is sleek, stylish and a real pleasure to drive at any speed. The space inside is awesome too – the whole family fits comfortably and no one ever complains!

One of the best choices I made was to buy an Audi A6 over a BMW or Merc. These three makes of car are equally renowned for their style, sophistication, luxury and performance – but the Audi A6 comes without the hefty price tag! OK, they’re not exactly cheap either, but they definitely don’t hurt your wallet as much as the others. Personally I opted for a used Audi, which knocks about another £10,000 of the price tag.

One of the greatest features of an Audi is that the well-built structure will stand the test of time. I have had my Audi A6 for three years now and I have had zero problems with it. The trick is to buy a used car where any potential problems have been ‘ironed out’ by the previous owner, rather than created by them. So choose your used Audi wisely – not every owner is as careful as me! With an Audi A6, you’re unlikely to encounter ‘potential problems’ anyway because they’re so reliable. They come with a reputation – and not the kind that’s associated with Citroen Saxos or Vauxhall Novas! Audi A6 drivers are respected for their choice of car, and quite rightly so because it really is the best used car on the road.

What is the Best Motorcycle Touring Luggage For My Bike? 26
Feb
Posted by Admin in Cars Related on 02 26th, 2010

We are asked this question all the time but unfortunately there is no easy answer. There are so many options to choose between, depending upon which model of bike you are riding. Hard luggage is a must for many of our customers; the obvious advantages are the security that it provides and the fact that it is waterproof. Also, so quick and easy to take on and off, no fiddling about with straps when you are using hard luggage! The disadvantage can be the initial outlay if you are on a budget.

Popular makes of hard luggage include Givi, Hepco & Becker and Krauser, all of which manufacture racks/fitting kits specific to bike model. When you are looking to put hard luggage on your bike, the first point to consider is “does anyone make a rack for my bike?” Once you have established this, you will have more of an idea of the options available to you. Owners of popular bikes such as the Honda Blackbird or the Suzuki Bandit will find they have a wide choice, whereas if you have a sports bike such as the GSXR, your options will be much more limited.

Many racks are now quick-release, such as the SW-Motech racks, these are fitted to the bike with 3 or 4 fitting points which are permanent, but unobtrusive. The luggage racks can then be easily put on/taken off within minutes, using quick-release bolts.

Of course many riders do not want to put hard luggage on their bike, as they do not want the look of their pride and joy spoilt by racks. This is where soft luggage comes in, and the choice here is vast from a simple tank bag to a set of throw-over panniers and a large tail pack. One of the problems with soft luggage is that it is rarely completely waterproof. The zips are usually the area of vulnerability but more and more manufacturers are combating this problem with covered zips. There is also now a wide range of waterproof bags, such as the Helen 2 Wheels range which is very versatile and can be fitted to most makes of motorbike.

Another option for sports bikes is the Ventura range of soft luggage, which is mounted on a rear rack so easy to put on and take off. When you are not using your luggage, the rack can be easily replaced with a simple grab rail.

Aluminium luggage is another alternative which has become very popular, particularly with BMWs/adventure bikes. Most of the hard luggage manufacturers have a version of this style of luggage, which is extremely tough and durable.

If you own a cruiser motorcycle, such as a Harley, you will be looking for something completely different. There is a vast array of cruiser luggage available, whether you are looking for leather panniers, Cissy bar bags, tool rolls, and rack bags. Leather panniers can be either throw-over or fitted onto a chrome tubular rack, which will be specifically designed for your model of bike. Cissy bar bags come in all shapes and sizes. Most of this luggage is manufactured in America but is available in the UK.

My lease ends next month and I am WAY over my allowed milleage. It would cost me $4,000 for the extra miles so I think it makes the most sense to buy the Audi A4. What is the best way to go about negotiating the purchase? Thank you!

Feb
Posted by Admin in Cars Related on 02 10th, 2010

It’s important to use the right clothing for the type of riding you will be doing. Long distance riding will require comfort whilst straddling the bike for a long period of time. Whereas during racing; more padding and protection may be favoured over comfort to ensure safety. Choosing the right clothing will provide you with adequate comfort and protection.

In this article we’ll look at what types of motorcycle clothing are available and which is best suited for your needs. Before purchasing any clothes make sure you research both the make and also the business that’s selling it. Be aware of fake imitations of real brands, by making sure the company you’re buying from has a good reputation and customer feedback.

If you’re looking for comfort in all weathers, consider a nylon shell fabric material for your jacket. Most motorcycle jackets will offer waterproof material as well as waterproof closures to prevent water seeping inside the clothes. If you’re likely to wear the jacket in cold conditions; some jackets will come with a removable thermal liner. This makes the jacket usable in both hot and cold weather.

If warmth is a key factor to your riding clothes you might want to consider microfleece base layers. Worn under your motorcycle clothing, these layers will provide warmth and comfort in cold temperatures. Most base layers are made of wicking material which will keep moisture away from your skin, keeping you dry without cooling.

Balaclavas are also extremely useful in cold temperatures. Worn underneath the motorcycle helmet balaclavas keep the heat of your head in. Some contain wicking material to keep your head dry and sweat free, ideal for use in any season.

A popular choice for racers and off road riders is protective body armour. Most motorcycle body armour is built to protect the main areas prone to damage such as the back, chest and spine.

Leather is a great material for ultimate protection. It’s traditionally the most popular choice of material for protective motorcycle clothing simply because it’s the toughest. Most leather jackets and trousers will come with increased safety seams at impact points to offer added protection. Some motorcycle waterproof jackets come with removable internal lining for use in both warm and cold weather.

One of the most important factors to consider is the rider’s size. This should be known because different models of kids electric scooters have different specifications and capacity. For kids from 5 to 8, for example, 100 watt equipment is most perfect. This is, however, generally smaller for one who is already 8 years old.

A common feature among almost, if not, all of them is their hard and solid wheels. Some people, however, end up blaming the lack of knowledge on the nature of such wheels. When they are used in rough surfaces, there is a higher tendency for the wheels to get chewed up, which have to be removed sometime after. The most basic scooters have the capacity to deal with up to 120lbs and sometimes even up to 200lbs. The most recommended for these kids scooters is nothing more than 60 to 70lbs.

There are scooters that are 350 watts and higher. Both kids and adults can make use of these ones. The ones that can be commonly seen throughout the country is the 350 watt electric scooter, which is also referred to as kids scooter. These are fast, convenient, durable and safe. The 350 watt scooter is definitely nothing close to a disappointment for mature and responsible kids. Older kids are never going to outgrow the 500 watt scooters.
