I have been riding motorcycles since the early 70′s and I have gone down a few times. It only takes one time to lay your bike down to know that leather gloves will protect your hands, and when you ride a motorcycle you need to wear protective equipment because the other drivers, and I mean the people driving in the cars that pull out on the roads to make a left or the cars that make a u turn in your path ether don’t see you or don’t care what they are doing.

I live in Florida so I can ride just about all year, but I can’t wear my leather chaps, because it does get very hot in the summer time, and I have 3 different styles of helmets to wear all year. I enjoy taking my bike out for a ride, going to the beach or riding to motorcycle rally or just on weekends with the club I belong to.

Most of the bikers I ride with wear protective gear, and one day were riding through a construction site and one of the riders lost it and he went down, he hit some fine sand on a curve. He didn’t get hurt bad but his hands were protected by the leather gloves he was wearing and he saw what the road did to his gloves he was glad he had them. The next time we went on a ride he had a new pair with him.

When I watch the motorcycle races or the motor cross races all the riders are wearing protection and leather gloves are a part of what they wear. Not only the motorcycle riders but the rest of the world of sports, and the construction worker, ball player, hockey players, some truck drivers and just in the winter people wear hand protection.

There are many different styles to choose from, so many styles that you can look cool or good or what your taste is. The only reason I wear protective gear when I ride is because it’s the smart thing to do and you can look good too when you wear your protective gear.
