I’m looking at buying a 2002 Audi TT for 2k, but it needs a trans. Just wondering if anyone knows what that might run. Thanks!

Depends on which trans it is. For the cheapest of the automatics (code 01M), you can figure on about $7k for parts and labor.

Look up “ZF transmissions” and “Europeantransmissions” on the internet. Nearly all Eurpean autmatics are made by the ZF company. They have a genuine factory rebuilder in this country. A fully remanufactured and tested and updated transmission cost about $2650. All other expenses, of course, are installation labor fees.
