What is this noise coming from the rear of my Audi A4?

I have a 99 Audi A4 2.8 quattro and once i get going faster than 30 there is a loud humming noise coming from the rear of the car. It is independent of acceleration and only goes away once i am going under about 30. Help me. What is this noise?

I am confused on the whole roadster and quattro thing, and I wanted to know if I could get a audi tt convertible that fit 4 people, or if it only fit two?

I have a 2002 audi a4. my Dads friend works at an audi service center and is sneaking the car in and going to put in a new catalytic converter. He is also going to put in new shocks and struts and mounts?
