Question: Do you consider your-self a “car guy”?
Diego Ramos: The most politically correct answer would be to say yes, but I will say no. I’m more of a motorcycle guy (although) they are very similar.
When I talk about motorcycles, I talk with passion. The older we get, the more passionate we become. And the older I get, the more I like old motor-cycles. The car industry is more com-plex. The car has more influence than
the motorcycle from a socio-economic point of view, from a fashion point of view and from a safety point of view. (With motorcycles), I can explore my passion and have my job as my hobby.

Question: How is Audi Canada doing in the marketplace?
DR: We are up 11 per cent (in sales) year over year. That said, we are run-ning out of our bread-and-butter model, the A4. We were so successful in the first four months with this year that we are now short of cars. That’s the (way it is) in our industry; either you have too many cars or too few. We could sell more, but we are short of cars. With people changing the way they think about small cars, the A3 has been very successful and, again, we are running short. So, our sales could be higher, but we will recover in the second half othe year when we get the new A4. You know what happens every time you get a new model — for the first five months, sales are bang, bang, bang.

Question: Given the current state of the automotive business, what do you think Audi will look like in 10 years?
DR: I don’t think it will be very much different. We are not a company that wants to be No. 1 in volume. We want to be the best company in the world with the most satisfied customers and the most loyal customers.

Where can I get a well priced, quality oil change in Illinois for my Audi S4?

My warranty recently ran out on my 2006 Audi S4 and I need to get an oil change. I do not want to go to the dealership because they obviously overcharge for every service. I would like to find a good place near downtown Chicago or near Schaumburg. I want a place that has a great price but also great quality and they are familiar with Audi’s and high end German cars. Thanks for your help!

Audi UK offering upgraded 4.2L V8 for R8 Spyder

The Euro-spec Audi R8 Spyder will soon be available with a more powerful version of the automaker’s 4.2-liter V8 engine. The EU5-approved FSI unit gets ten more horses, going from 420 to 430 horsepower. It also gets an energy recuperation system that comes into effect during coasting and braking. The run from zero to 62 miles per hour takes 4.8 seconds, and a 186-mph top speed is possible “in the appropriate circumstances” (i.e., out on the Autobahn).

For the six-speed manual you’ll need £95,545 ($147,759 USD based on current exchange rates), while the not-so-great R-Tronic will require £100,855 ($155,966 USD). The hardtop R8 will also be getting this upgraded engine, and both will be available in January of next year. Don’t worry – the new engine will be coming to the U.S., as well. What is this noise coming from the rear of my Audi A4?

I have a 99 Audi A4 2.8 quattro and once i get going faster than 30 there is a loud humming noise coming from the rear of the car. It is independent of acceleration and only goes away once i am going under about 30. Help me. What is this noise?
