While I disagree with your statement about boosting a 2.8 being stuck at low boost, I do agree that I would be better for him to pop a 1.8t
There’s an old professor out of Strasburg CO that has a 98 A4 with the 2.8 that runs 11.5… granted he had to dump about 6K into the engine, but it’s feasible.

im debating on the trade for the 1.8t myself, but ideally i want to keep mine stock (except exhaust like what u did) and buyin something else cheap and building it. i just want a Turbocharged car haha. but i wouldnt mind the 1.8t i dont think as long as its easier to work on than the 2.8 haha
i also have the 2.8 b5 and was pretty bummed that there is almost nothing for them! I have an intake and deleted the first muffler… But motor wise there is nothing! Im looking to trade for a 98 1.8t soon. aiming for 250 to 300 horse!
Its AWD, he was turning from the start, and then turbo spooled at like 4.5k rpm and then he took off. If it was FWD it would have been spinning until 60mph at least with that turbo. And none really does any mods to FWD A4s, no point to it.
I am sure it’s quattro. Taking off from a dig is a great way to destroy your car. Especially since you can see his turbo isn’t even kicking in till about 4800 rpm. It CAN be done, but not all of us feel like snapping axles to make people on youtube happy.
i have the b5 2.8l quattro, but the performance options suck for the N/A motor, ive actually considered trading in for the 1.8t, the 2.8 has 190hp while the 1.8 has 160hp, but the 1.8 has way more potential. and quattro is like the best thing ever, so reliable in almost any condition and controllable. go quattro

That’s because it’s a K04. There’s virtually no difference between a stock K03 and the K04 minus the housing I believe. The turbine is the same.
Anyways, this is a GT30R man. 350whp is easy with the right tune and peripherals.

Only option is to supercharge it. While you technically can turbocharge the 2.8, you will be stuck running extremely low boost.
Best bet is to sell your 2.8 and buy a 1.8T.

that is sick…my friend just got rid of his b5 a4 18t and all he did was an apl chip,and we did 135 and he still had rpm b5’s are fast
