A few weeks ago, I noticed a water leak in my 1999 Audi A6 Avant. As I drove uphill, water would come rushing through a vent near the passenger side floor. This video is a step by step tutorial for fixing this problem without paying a dealer $150+ in labor costs.

It depends on what needs to be done. Some of these Audis do great and need only basic maintenance which you could do yourself (a few hundred dollars of maintenance per year). However, some Audis run into major issues. At that point, you can fork out a few thousand dollars and still run into problems. In other words, it’s luck of the draw.

the audi is a beautiful car and as you can imagine, it drives better than any other car i’ve ever owned. however, maintenance is very expensive when needed. if you’re looking to buy, i would try to stick with an audi that has less than 80k miles.
i hope that helps.

I’m not sure about problems in the rear passenger seat. If you have a sunroof, it’s possible that water is getting in through there. Best of luck.

Great and useful post – I have just had the same problem with my Audi A6 Avant, and I will tomorrow be following your instructions to (hopefully) clear the problem. You have saved me a lot of playing around under the hood! Thanks.
