if you wanted to modify the motor of a 2.8, it would pretty well all be custom parts. The only serious performance part offered for the 2.8 is a supercharger kit ($6000 if I remember correctly) that brings the power up to around 300ish hp.
spend 6 grand on a 1.8T and you’ll be well over that power level.
@boondockrasta
if you want to modify it at all for large performance gains, get the 1.8T, if you want it to sound, look, and handle nice, but aren’t too concerned about getting big power, you’ll be fine with the 2.8
The highway for me is fine. Its when I am on 55mph roads In 5th gear I am at about 2000 to 2300rpm and its unbearable. I either have to go about 62mph or drop into 4th gear and then its virtually gone (unless I decied to have some fun ^_^)
@utbigpapa
Its just the digital camera a have wedged in between the headreast and seat. The sunroof doesn’t rattle. I haven’t had problems with that yet.
is it full exhaust or just the muffler.
i just bought a 2004 a4 1.8t i want some more sound tho, anything you would reccomend? i do have a low budget. thanks
@ickification
because there isn’t any readily available parts to increase the power of the 2.8 affordably. There is a supercharger, but for what it costs you could have much more power from a 1.8. Also if you are persistant on getting a 2.8, make sure it’s a 30 valve (98 and newer I beleive)
audi awd..faster start off the line..it all depends on your preference bmw and audi are very similar..in my opinion audi are better and more reliable..i own 3 an 2000 2.7t a 2000 2.8 and a 2004 1.8t all amazing my 04′ the mods are never ending..i picked it up for 10000 with 40k miles
Im looking to buy an audi or BMW, I am going to want to tune it and maybe race alittle. Can someone let me know some pros and cons of audi??????????????
well since you are running a 1.8T there’s lots you can do. I’d probably start with a chip, new diverter valve, downpipe, intercooler upgrade. Then watch that thing come alive!
Yea that’s what I meant, haha. But I got it mounted on and it sounds great. Thanks for your imput. What are some other upgrades I could do that are inexpensive? I’m a college student without alot of money lol.

@SuperStud100
yea I always had the same issue, I’d just downshift to 4th or like you said, accelerate a bit till it went away.

@utbigpapa
also, it isn’t bad for long trips, once you get on the highway it’s fine. Just below 2500rpm it drones a bit

Sun roof rattle at 1:32? If you have a fix, please send me a message.
Sounds nice, but is it a little too loud for longer trips? Sounds real real nice though

Yeah, no problem. If you want to mod and race or w/e, get an Audi 1.8T. Message me if you questions, it’s easier.
