I have the same 95 a6 Q as well, it blew a head gasket. Hit a big puddle and just enough water got in the engine, but not enough to hydrolock it. Wish I knew how to replace it myself. Anyway, great vid, it's hard to part with that car isn't it?

Yes, it is hard to part with these cars. I need to replace my valve guides and seals. I may be pulling the heads next summer.

I believe it was me who told you about the heater core...I guess I should have made it a little clearer...the mechanic took the top plastic cover which is under the hood which covers the heater core, among other things. Then he put an after market heater core. Works great, the only complaint he had was the incredibly tight space he had to work with

Either way, great work!

Thanks!

That method would have been really tight. There are also hidden screws that would have been really difficult to find unless you already knew where they were.

Thanks for the comment!

Sounds like your problem is the fan. It is just as hard to replace as the heater core. It could also be the bypass valve.

Cool will make sure I look into that. Just hope it doesn't cost me much. But I am assume it is not the fun since it blows good. So many be the bypass valve. Will look into it.
Thanks once again
